Solid Brass Paperweight And Ashtray

This piece serves two purposes.  Remove the swivel lid, flip and insert into the larger piece from the bottom and you have a mid-20th century ashtray.  The notches on the rim are for resting cigerettes or cigars.  Place the lid back into the top of the larger piece...after emptying the ashes...and you have a solid heavy paperweight.
